Bierschwale Land Company, LLC was formally created on January 1, 2010 by Paul Bierschwale, Aaron Bierschwale and Justin Bierschwale. Prior to the formation of the LLC, the company had operated as Bierschwale Appraisals. The change was in name only and the same services offered by Bierschwale Appraisals remain in place today.Since 1982, our office has offered full service appraisal, brokerage and consulting services. Through the years, our office has provided valuation expertise, litigation support and consultation services to our clients throughout the nation. Our background in real property valuation provides a unique perspective to clients in search of brokerage services.The company and its employees have significant experience in market research and analysis. We maintain a reputation of complete research and accurate analysis in order to provide sound, market based results which aid in both litigation and personal decisions involving real property. Mr. Bierschwale has been an active field appraiser for all types of real property since January 1977. He is qualified in Federal and Texas State courts as an expert on Real Estate values. His appraisal experience includes residential, commercial, industrial and rural properties for loans, sale, partition, estate settlement, ad valorem taxation, condemnation, and bankruptcy in Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona and New Mexico.
Mr. Bierschwale was employed by James K. Norwood, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas from January 1977 through December 1981. He then opened Bierschwale Appraisals located in Junction, Texas in January 1982. He owned and operated Bierschwale Appraisals from January 1982 until the formation of Bierschwale Land Company, LLC with his sons in 2010. From September 1980 through March 1997, Mr. Bierschwale served as Chief Appraiser of the Kimble County Appraisal District, where he oversaw all valuations for ad valorem taxation in the district. He was appointed to the Texas Real Estate Appraiser Certification Committee in 1989, and served through August 1991. This committee set up the original State Certification criteria for real estate appraisers in Texas. Mr. Bierschwale was elected President of ASFMRA in 2005 and served in that capacity until February of 2007. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees of The Appraisal Foundation in 2008 and served as the Chairman in 2012.
Prior to 1977, Mr. Bierschwale’s experience consisted of research on the rural land market of Texas at the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A & M University for two years. During this time, he served a four month internship with the Governor’s Office of Education Resources as a special consultant on agricultural values of land across the State.
Mr. Bierschwale is an active member of his local community. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Junction where he has served as an Elder on the Session, a past board member of the Hill Country Fair Association and a past Trustee for the Junction Independent School Board. He is married to Debbie Bierschwale and together they live on the family ranch.

Mr. Phillips joined Bierschwale Land Company, LLC in June 2006 and is one of the company’s two Real Estate Brokers. All Real Estate transactions are managed by Mr. Phillips.
Prior to working for Bierschwale Land Company, LLC, Mr. Phillips had an illustrious career as a head football coach. He coached for 26 years and won two State Championships: 1989 2A State Champions with Groveton High School and 1992 4A State Champions with Waxahachie High School. Mr. Phillips grew up in Junction, Texas. He is a fourth generation Kimble County Rancher. Following his retirement as a football coach, he moved back to his home town to work with his lifelong friend and classmate, Paul Bierschwale, in the Real Estate business.
Mr. Phillips received a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) in 1975. He received a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Lamar University in 1984. Mr. Phillips is a licensed Real Estate Broker.
AARON D. BIERSCHWALE, ARAQualifications

Mr. Bierschwale has performed appraisals and/or research for appraisals during his career on properties located all over the state of Texas along with various properties located in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Recent valuation projects which Mr. Bierschwale has been involved in include the U. S. Border Fence with Mexico, 345 Kv Powerline projects for both the acquiring agency and the landowners, and potential trade situations between the State of Texas and private landowners, along with more typical situations involving loans, estates, partial interests and easements.
Mr. Bierschwale’s previous job was as a Real Estate Appraiser Trainee for AgTexas Farm Credit Bank, FCA where he trained under James Synatzske, ARA & B.L. Jones, ARA. There he was responsible for performing appraisal reports on agricultural use, recreational use, rural residential use, and special interest use properties covering most of the northern half of Texas.
Mr. Bierschwale graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2001. He is currently an active member in the Society of Texas A&M Real Estate Professionals and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). He serves on many levels of committees within ASFMRA including the Auction Committee and New Member Committee. Mr. Bierschwale received the Early Career Award at the ASFMRA National Convention in 2007 and received his ARA designation at the ASFMRA National Convention in 2008.
Mr. Bierschwale is an active member of his local community. He has served on the Chamber of Commerce board from 2004 to 2010, the Junction Tourism Board 2009 to 2013 and was a Junction City Councilman 2009 to 2012. He has been a contributor to the Rural Land Values Seminar from 2001 to present. Aaron is married to Tiffany Bierschwale and together they have two children, Bode and Taya.

Mr. Bierschwale has experience in appraisal work in a multitude of areas. His primary expertise lies in the area of natural resources. During his involvement with Bierschwale Land Company, LLC, notable clients have included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services, Federal Aviation Administration, Texas Department of Transportation and the Lower Colorado River Authority as well as numerous privately held companies and individual land owners.
Mr. Bierschwale’s previous job was as a Real Estate Appraiser with JMP Land Services, LLC. There he was responsible for performing appraisal reports on commercial, rural, industrial and residential properties throughout the Brazos Valley and Coastal Bend areas of Texas.
Prior to employment with JMP Land Services, Mr. Bierschwale was employed with the Texas Real Estate Research Center stationed on the campus of Texas A&M University. During his employment with the Research Center, Mr. Bierschwale helped research, prepare and track real estate markets throughout the State of Texas. Research included the gathering of data in the form of current market transactions, general economic shifts and tastes and preferences experienced. Mr. Bierschwale also contributed to the analysis of data utilized to form the urban market studies conducted by the Real Estate Center on an annual basis.
Mr. Bierschwale graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2002. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Land Economics and Real Estate from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in May 2004. He is currently serving as President for the Austin Chapter of the Appraisal Institute where he holds an MAI designation. Mr. Bierschwale holds the ARA designation and has served on many levels of committees within the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) including the Governance Committee, Auction Committee, Program Committee and the Cooperative Efforts Task Force charged with looking at relationships with other organizations, most notably RICS. He is currently serving as the chairman for the National Education and Accreditation Committee for ASFMRA.
Mr. Bierschwale is co-author of ASFMRA’s Wind Powered Generators and their Impact on Land Ownership seminar. He is the sole author of the updated 2011 version of the Appraisal of Natural Resources seminar, also housed by ASFMRA.
Mr. Bierschwale has also been an active member with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Americas division. He was asked to be a member of a group known as “the think tank” shortly after unification efforts failed among the largest appraisal organizations in the United States. The group researched various avenues to keep the goal of obtaining professional recognition alive and ultimately settled on RICS as being the vehicle to accomplish the goal. Mr. Bierschwale became an MRICS shortly after and entered a chairman position on the RICS Americas Valuation Council for Rural Property. He was then asked to participate in the writing of a global text book project centering on rural property and natural resources which is currently under way.
Justin has been recognized by his peers and mentors with multiple awards to this point in his career. In 2014, the Agricultural Economics department at Texas A&M, where Justin is a routine guest lecturer, honored Justin by inducting him into the Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry of Former Students. This induction has been bestowed on only 72 of the Agricultural Economics graduates from Texas A&M representing less than 1% of the former student population. Justin was nominated by former professors who had kept tract of his career and who felt his accomplishments were deserving of inclusion with this very accomplished and distinguished group. He has been an appraisal instructor since 2008 and has taught all levels of appraisal courses to an excess of 1,000 students. His efforts in promoting quality appraisal education and being a staunch advocate for sound, ethical appraisal practices and methodologies earned him the Early Career Award through the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. This award is granted to those individuals displaying a true passion for the advancement of the appraisal profession and is awarded to one recipient per year.
Mr. Bierschwale is an active member of his local community. He serves as Trustee on the Junction ISD Board, is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Junction where he has served as an Elder on the Session, a past board member of the Junction Economic Development Board, a volunteer coach with the Youth Baseball Association and a board member of the Hill Country Fair Association. He is married to Carmen Bierschwale and together they have three children, Jade, Brock and Koda.

Mr. Tonne is currently an appraiser with Bierschwale Land Company, LLC. Mr. Tonne has experience in appraisal work in various areas. Notable clients have included the Lower Colorado River Authority and Sharyland Utilities as well as numerous privately held companies and individual land owners.
Mr. Tonne’s previous job was as a Farm Program Technician with the Brazos County Farm Service Agency office. There he was responsible for assisting local farmers and ranchers with drought assistance programs and other programs offered through the Farm Service Agency.
Mr. Tonne graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2010. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Land Economics and Real Estate from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in May 2012. He served as President of the Texas A&M Real Estate Association while pursuing his Master’s Degree.
Mr. Tonne is an active member of the local community of Junction. He is currently serving as a board member for the Hill Country Fair Association, along with the Kimble County Chamber of Commerce. He has been married to Ashley Tonne since February of 2015.
CARMEN BIERSCHWALECarmen’s Qualifications

Mrs. Bierschwale has been the Office Manager for the company since 2010. Carmen oversees general business operations and manages all the bookkeeping. Carmen is also contracted by the Texas Chapter of the ASFMRA to serve as the Secretary/Treasurer. In this roll, Carmen oversees operations which include management of the Chapter’s general membership, the committees and Board of Directors; coordinating two annual membership meetings and providing appraiser continuing education and general bookkeeping for the organization. In addition, the Chapter publishes an annual Rural Land Value Trends each year which Carmen helps to construct.
Prior to working for Bierschwale Land Company, Mrs. Bierschwale was employed by LoanStar, Inc., a student loan servicing company. She began working for LoanStar, Inc in September 2001 as a student while attending Texas A&M University. Following graduation from Texas A&M, LoanStar hired her full-time. In 2005 LoanStar was acquired by Nelnet, Inc. During her employment with LoanStar/Nelnet, Mrs. Bierschwale had numerous jobs primarily in the Loan Originations and System Operations departments. In Loan Originations, she was Team Lead and Analyst for the Stafford and Parent PLUS loans. She managed 13 employees to ensure loan applications were processed in a timely manner and adhering to the required federal application guidelines. Once processed, she oversaw the student loan funding was transferred from the appropriate bank lender to the desired institution. In System Operations, she was the company’s only project manager. In 2005 when Nelnet acquired LoanStar, she was promoted to Supervisor of the regional School Servicing Center.
While attending Texas A&M University, Mrs. Bierschwale had a two semester internship working for Dr. Rouquette and Dr. Clary at the Texas A&M Research and Extension Center in Overton, Texas.
Mrs. Bierschwale graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. When not working for the family business, Carmen is busy with her and Justin’s three children, Jade, Brock and Koda Bierschwale.
